-A Journey of Courage and
Resilience

A Journey of Courage and
Resilience

Oyifie tells the story of the impact of a sense of belonging on children's confidence. The excitement of new adventures, the loneliness of missing old friends, and the hope of finding community in new environments. It sheds light on the peculiar challenges children face when they feel different. It speaks to obstacles such as cultural differences, feelings of isolation, race, and language barriers. The story emphasizes the importance of empathy, understanding, and acceptance in helping children feel welcomed and valued in their new communities. As educators, parents, and individuals, we all play a role in helping children adopt a “welcoming“ perspective and become more supportive of their peers' growth.
